B2B SaaS content writer for customer-obsessed brands

I’m Jake, and I’m a B2B SaaS content writer. I have 13 years of experience working with tech companies large & small.

From the front lines up to managing a team, I’ve experienced what it takes to build an early-stage support team, manage large ARR accounts, navigate an acquisition with a multi-billion dollar company, and hire a team of enterprise customer success managers.

I started freelance writing as a side gig in 2009 for an entertainment company now owned by Live Nation. Today, I focus on writing B2B content for customer-centric SaaS companies.

I’ve been lucky to work with some awesome companies.

Jake was our first remote-working freelancer at TestLodge, and after several years as a contributor, he is still making a significant impact through his writing skills and technological expertise. Jake working remotely has never been an issue because he is a highly motivated self-starter with spot-on communication, who takes feedback well, and delivers on deadlines.

As well as being a really nice person, Jake is reliable, honest and passionate about the work he does, which has included software testing, blog post writing (his primary role at present), and writing our knowledge base. An all-around star who’s always up for helping out in other areas as needed, we look forward to continuing our work relationship with Jake in the future.

Jake is a hugely talented and versatile content writer. From blog copy to landing pages and case studies, he played an important role in helping us execute a successful inbound content strategy for one of Tuff's main B2B SaaS clients. Beyond being highly dependable with deadlines and requests for edits, he's also a great guy and a pleasure to work with. You can tell he cares about the quality of the work. He often went above and beyond to dig into source material, including data sets and interview transcripts, to bring our content briefs to life. I would highly recommend working with him on any project involving B2B content and copywriting.

About me

I started freelance writing in 2009, writing music biography snippets for an entertainment website.

In 2011, I discovered the software as a service (SaaS) space, and I’ve been lucky to have had an enjoyable and rewarding career ever since. As the first customer-facing hire at several startups, I understand what it takes to build customer support and success from the ground up.

While working in customer support and success, I continued to freelance on the side, picking up random writing projects here and there. I always dreamed of leaving the corporate grind and focusing on freelance writing.

In 2022, I left my job as the head of Customer Success and have been freelancing ever since. Today, I’m lucky to spend much of my time writing for customer-centric SaaS companies about topics such as customer support, communication, entrepreneurship, software testing, incident management, and more.

Outside of work, I love to hike, play drums, record music, watch documentary films, and dabble in photography.
